வேட்டையாடு விளையாடு - Review

If you love to watch True Files, Crime Scene Investigation, Forensic Investigation in Discovery and National Geography Channels or at least Kuttra Pathirigai in Sun TV, then this move is for you. To make you more comfortable, time and date were also displayed for most of the scenes.

Ever since the movie and its crew got hooked up by lots of difficulties during production and postproduction, it created a much hype among Kamals Fans. The over all public were also shocked to hear that the movie was in a financial trouble for releases.

The movie is not a Kamal Movie, but Gautham’s movie or rather would say Goutham’s Kakka Kakka Movie. Usually success formula’s would be copied by other directors. But Gautham himself re-used, literally, his own success formula to an extent that audience would only feel like seeing Kakka Kakka Movie with Kamal.

Kamal fits into his Character as much as Gautham remakes his earlier movie. Jothika’s mannerisms and her voice modulation also reminds of her husky voice sequences with Surya.

The Story is about Psychopath Killers from Tamil Nadu, their spree in US and back in India. Kamal goes to find the cause of Prakashraj and his wife’s death in New York wherein he come to know through NYPC that there is an reported incident of a young Girl missing in similar to Prakash Raj’s daughter in Nellai.

How could the NYPC did’nt break into the deserted fort next to the spot where the US Girl Chandana was found missing for the last 2 years. The reason the NYPC Cop Anderson says is “ Its sealed and trespassing not allowed”. Kamal breaks the sealed lock with an iron rod. This opens the story.

The characterizing and casting of the Psychopath Killers are not comfortable. Their script allows the Two Medical students from TN studying in Brooklyn University, to use the words like “ Podurom, ellaarayum Podurom “. For quite sometime Tamil Audience are fed up with this words due to over flooding of Gangster Movies. The dialogues for them should have been limited with few words and reaction. Instead Balaji talk in length when he confesses to Kamal in the Hostel room after attacking each other. This is a very usual cinematic thing. The scenes following next like Balaji sets the room in fire with the splashes of Alcohol and Kamal escapes by jumping from the window into a garbage bin are disappointing again.

Prakash raj excelled in acting as a quiet DCP and a father of a 21 years girl. His acting on seeing his own daughter’s corpse takes him to another heights. But showing the mutilated body of the corpse in the screen should have been avoided. And a local gangster kills Kamal’s first wife in the same way Jyothika was killed in Kakka Kakka. Even the sets remind us back.

Many murders and Blood spills make the movie not advisable for children and heart patients.

Cinematography is recognizable in the first fight sequence and in the scenes covering US. Back ground music is damn good but only during the Highway chase it again reminds the Kakka Kakka. The initial introduction scenes between Kamal and Jothika and scenes in which love blossoms between a DCP Widower and a divorcee mother of 11 years of old baby were so poetic.

Balaji acted well with his long hair but his voice pulled his leg. Nothing much to say about his associate.

Kamal should have acted in Kaakka Kaakka, not the copy cat of it.
