Ugly Singaporeans…….

When you happened to live in Singapore for sometime, you will come to know and experience the meaning of above.

Initially I confronted this term with my unrefined notion that how could they identify them as ugly. But this term was well estabilished and much discussed by the Media and few a groups of public when reporting on irresponsible citizens of Singapore. It’s not only limited to irresponsibility but extends to Cunningness, Kiasu Behaviour (this is every Singaporean’s born thing), Sweet talk to hide important facts from the opponent (usually seen in buy/sell), thinking themselves superior and take opportunity to correct/point others etc. The list would not end here, if I could spare more time to think on this.

There is a Ugly Singaporean in every Singaporean rushing to plunge into a seat in MRT or Bus as soon as the door opens. Some are smart to keep the nose pressed on the sliding doors to denote their counter parts that he has to be given higher priority to help him jump into the seat as his pressed nose is hardly visible between his face and the sliding door.

Looking at this people’s attitude to run after seat for a ride that would not last more than 40 minutes and their restlessness in thier “otherwise loss of life” faces before the sliding door opens for the train, I made up my mind not to sit in a MRT ride unless every last person finds a seat of their choice and satisfaction or unless the whole train is empty and running with high variable expenses where in I may want to provide my Contribution Margin

There is a Ugly Singaporean in every Singaporean who think MRT rides are only meant for Sleeping or sleeping on any opened pages of a thick book.

There is a Ugly Singaporean in every Singaporean who can’t stand to see children singing their playgroup rhymes or playing with their parents, Babies crying for milk, Parents or Maid looking for a seat to sit and feed the baby. The ugly faces present in such scenes will look at the Babies, Children, Caretakers as a mere unwanted stock on earth. There are more ugly faces that will peep from the neighborhood compartments to express their unhappiness over the Babies and to provide support to their disturbed-until-death counter parts.

You will see Ugly Singaporean in every MRT Riders who strongly believes that a elderly person or a parent feeding the baby or a pregnant woman, who might sit or sit next to them will touch and make them the most poorest thing in the world. They will hard-pray god not to be touched/moved (of course, no one can touch them by heart) by all the mundane things happening around them.

In spite of all this, they think they are floating a Cosmopolitan culture and have World Class in their attitude.

In Singapore, female population is slightly higher than Male. It’s much higher when you take a census of Ugly Singaporeans.

Let’s us not change anyone or change the scenes, follow some effective and simple steps to become Ugly yourselves.
